With methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis, this paper wouldstraighten out writing features and news rules in war reports of Chiping Chu, who wasa famous journalist in Ta Kung Pao.Chiping Chu has through a very hard life. As areporter, he has travelled to the southwest corner of China and has given Burma Roada lot of media coverage Further more, he has also gone to the western Hubei theater,introducing local people’s living situation and how they fought against the enemywith civil-military. He has also gone to interview as a war correspondent in the PacificWar, bringing readers lots of classic news works. In a word, he brushed with deathmore than once. According to the analysis, it proved that his war reports were bothaccurate, high of historical value, full of wit and humor and readable. This paper willdiscuss how the reporter could make his works balanced as well as vigorous. Inaddition, this paper will also compare the differences of news reports of these twofamous journalists, Chiping Chu and Ernie Pyle (a famous American journalist), andthen find the reasons behind them. At the end of the article, it will further demonstratethe relevance of the traits of Chu’s reports to and the "liberalism" tradition as well aswestern journalism education model, and will put forward some suggestions tonowadays news industry.
