As one of the basic elements of newspaper, section constructs the basal modality of newspaper with news, commentary and advertisement. However, it has been neglected by scholars and stuff of media in the past. With the intensifying domestic competition of news paper, the function of the section is a resource which is worthy of being paid close attention to. It is of importance for studying section specially to have a clairvoyance of evolution of Chinese newspaper laterally.Ta Kung Pao is regarded as one of the most influential newspaper in modern China. Most of researches are concentrated in news and remarks, management or politics attitudes. My dissertation focuses on the section of Ta Kung Pao in Tianjin version during liberation war. First introduce several current definitions of section, and explain the concept of section in this paper. Than overview the formation and the development process of section in China briefly. All kinds of sections are studied in this paper by the way of traditional analysis of historical documents as well as ways for studying communication and sociology. The characters of Ta Kung Pao during liberation war are concluded by studying each section systematically and categorizing the skeleton. The feature of communication and the impelling effect for science and culture progress besides the civil life transition. The work it had done still has useful value nowadays.
