Since the1970s, the Digital Electronic Technology have swept through almost allthe application areas with the so-called"Digitized"waves of the digital circuit processinganalog signals. With the rapid development of computer science and technology,Traditional Digital Electronic System design based on fixed-function LSI such as74/54series digital electronic system design was not suitable for completion of today’slarge-scale integrated digital system design.The development and popularization ofEDA technology has brought a revolutionary change to digital system design, at thesame time, the PLD has developed rapidly. Based on the strong support of the EDAtechnology, HDL-based design tools, fully exploited of the rich and flexible logicresources of PLD, have been the main direction of development of Digital SystemDesign.As a rapid development of PLD, FPGA’s applications have expand fromcommunications to consumer electronics, automotive electronics, industrial control, testand measurement, etc. To learn to master the FPGA as the core modern digitalelectronic system design methodology, its necessity is obvious for college students,especially electronics majors. However, present, most of the higher education stillremain in the traditional digital system design methods,outdated technology, educationlag, which can not meet the social demand for talent at this stage.
