With the continuous education innovation and changing requirements of modern society, innovation of practical education has become more important and urgent. It is the effective tool of training independent learning ability, practical ability and creative spirit. Currently, under the macro-instruction of excellent central laboratory construction of national ministry of education, nationwide colleges and universities have conducted extensive and deep research into practical education innovation, made many new attempts, and accumulated lots of experience. In particular, construction of integrated designing laboratory and open-ended laboratory has achieved good effects to different extent. However, due to the restriction in scale, conditions and time arrangement, independent learning of students has been negatively influenced. Especially, the complex functions of current laboratory platforms have caused much difficulty for novice students who have insufficient special knowledge.In view of this, the thesis tries to design a low cost, easy to learn, and portable FPGA laboratory studying board, in order to facilitate students' independent and creative research activities in their spare time. Easily programming and entertaining, the studying board can greatly stimulate students' learning enthusiasm and change the "force-me-to-learn" pattern into "let-me-learn" pattern. Using the studying board, students can design their favorite FPGA laboratory, change their attitude towards study, and improve their studying efficiency. The laboratory studying board significantly contributes to the laboratory teaching.On the studying board are common function modules including LED display, cluster communication, seven digital tube, key-stroke input, etc. to help novices rapidly confirm their studying thought and nurture studying interest. The laboratory studying board uses Quartus II as software developing environment; laboratory programs are programmed by VHDL. So far the studying board hasn't covered hardware and software designing of extensive MCU module, and the designing of entertaining laboratory also needs improving. All these work will be done in the future.
