In2003, the Education Curriculum Standard of Geography of Full-time Compulsory issued by the national ministry of education, which proposes to develop students’ practical ability and innovation ability, with the new curriculum reform, the status and value of practical geography teaching became more highlight. Learning geography which is useful for life and for lifelong development is the most basic concept of the new curriculum standard of geography. Because of its particularity and complexity, geography requires for more practice, therefore we must make great efforts to train the geographical thinking ability and practical ability of students. The main purpose of advocating practical activity teaching of geography is to change the tendency of paying attention to imparting knowledge in the past, to let the students leam dual-use geographical knowledge and skills. Literature analysis method, interview method, observation method, expert consultation method and inductive method were used in this article, besides, we conducted an investigation about the present situation of high school practical activity teaching of geography, summarized the existing problems in practical activity teaching of geography, analysed the causes and proposed the solutions.This article mainly included five parts:Part1:On this background, significance, status, ideas and innovations of the research of practical activity teaching of geography were described.Part2:Summarized the meaning, the theoretical foundation of practical activity teaching of geography, and classified it in two ways.Part3:Analysed the existing problems and the possible causes of high school practical activity teaching of geography through questionnaires with students and interviews with teachers.Part4:Some improvement measures were proposed from the concepts, strategies and the methods of the practical activity teaching of geography respectively, and some examples were demonstrated.Part5:A chapter of high school geography compulsory1of people’s education press version was taken as an example to make a practice of teaching design and implementation. Through this empirical research, we proved the point of view, and put forward the problems of practical activity teaching of geography in the specific implementation process.Finally, we summarized the views, and pointed out the inadequacies of the paper and the research prospects to arouse more education academic experts, scholars, educators and geographical teachers pay more attention to practical activity teaching and research, reform the geography teaching, promote the comprehensive development of students. |
