Lifelong education idea was born in the1960s, it become mature after half a century and its development trend is spreading as a stream in the worldwide, people praise its "can be comparable with the Copernican theory". Now many countries put the lifelong education idea as "the21st century education reform guiding principle", and actively participate in the construction of lifelong education system. In the process of construction of life-long education system, our country doesn’t independent outside the world trend, but takes the international education ideological trend and our century lifelong education system which will be localize in strategic highland, then tries to build a lifelong education system with Chinese characteristics. It is not only the requirements of the Times change, but also China actively adapts to the external development environment and desires better and faster development of the historical choice and strategic response.In today’s economical globalization world, with the rapid development of science and technologies and accumulation of total knowledge, the advancement of science and technologies more and more determines the development, members in society has increasingly longed for lifelong education. Therefore, to satisfy the need of lifelong education for members in society, enhance the quality and fruits of lifelong education for members in society continuously, it is necessary to build a well-structured, scientifically efficient and flexible lifelong education system.It is the lifelong education system which should be advanced, scientific and universal, based on the national condition with Chinese characteristics.This essay is divided into three parts.The first part expounds the relevant concepts from inquiring into the concepts of lifelong education, lifelong education system and lifelong education with Chinese characteristics.The second part combines with efforts done to build lifelong education system, this part sums up six pieces of difficulty and deficiency of building lifelong education system with Chinese characteristics. First, the concept of lifelong education, the lack of clear understanding; Second, not introduced at the national level laws; Third, education funding shortage; governing body has not yet formed a unified and coherent; Fifth, the distribution of educational resources is not reasonable; sixth, lifelong education theory and practice development is not synchronized. It is aimed to clarify the difficulties of building lifelong education system and seek solutions by making existent examples.The third part provides solutions based on the problems of second part combining with actual situation of building lifelong education system with Chinese characteristics, drawing on advanced experience of developed countries, which make up for the deficiency of building lifelong education system, step up for build the process, maximize the satisfaction of needs in society, make great efforts to build a learning society.
