| The self-study examination system in China, which begins to rise from the 1980 s, has existed for nearly 30 years. The rise and development of self-study examination is a new power for our country’s higher education, and it is also an important action to promote our country’s higher education system to be perfect. The threshold of self-study examination is very low, which opens doors of knowledge for people who desire to accept further higher education. The self-study examination system, with open teaching style and distinct Chinese characteristics, has opened up an important area for our country’s higher education development in the new era. And it plays an irreplaceable role in improving the quality of whole people, and the construction of China’s great socialist career development. Lifelong education is the foothold of our country’s self-study examination system. In the vision of life-long education, self-study examination breaks through the traditional education model with university education as the center. It is more agile and elastic in the education mode, and more systematic and scientific in the education levels,which provides an important condition for people in society who want to continue to study. In the new situation of new era, China’s self-study examination system must organically blend in with lifelong education system to obtain the considerable development, to play its own important role, so as to promote the education equal in China and rapid development of China’s social construction with self-study examination’s unique advantages progress.This paper mainly includes four parts:The first part consisted of self-study examination of higher education and its consilience with lifelong education. This part discussed the connotation of higher education self-study examination and basic function. Self-study examination and its system met the needs of social development, and provided a platform for different kinds of people to obtain education, thus it improved the quality of the people, and assured the social harmony and stability. The important development goal of lifelong education was to make the educated population be maximized,fair and chronic. Self taught examination would be the best embodiment of lifelong education idea in social practice, and it was also an important means to realize lifelong education. There would be consilience between of higher education self-study examination and lifelong education.The second part discussed the present situation of our country’s higher education self-study examination development. In this part,we studied the present situation of self-study examination development, and discussed the development history and achievement. Self-study examination played a vital role in the history of China’s educational development. It provided a large number of highly educated and comprehensive applied talents for the development of the socialist market economy. With the popularization of higher education, China’s higher education self-study examination also faced a lot of problems, including fewer correct understanding for higher education self-study examination, not fully reflecting the fairness of lifelong education, too much concentration on test results rather than the educational process, and curricula arrangement lag.The third part discussed the main causes of existing problems of China’s higher education self-study examination in the vision of lifelong education. Self-study examination, as new society development result, should have its developing education mode. But because of indistinct standard orientation, its innovation was limited. People can’t learn their own value correctly, and there wasn’t suitable education mode for oneself. Therefore, present mode can not meet the need for variety of learning society. This paper analyzed the problems of self-study examination from inadequate management system, backward self-study examination management system policy, lack of authoritative and unified normative documents. The analysis of the problems provided direction for the countermeasures research.The fourth part discussed the countermeasures of China’s higher education self-study examination development in the vision of lifelong education. This part, on the basis of first three chapters’ research and many experts’ study, proposed to promote the innovation and development of self-study examination, with guidance with scientific progress view. It relocated higher education self-study examination with developing innovation concept. It put forword a new idea for self-study examination system in China, with system construction, innovation of technology and patterns and the new paradigm of higher education self-study examination as a good groundwork for internet-based education of self-study examination and global optimization of comrehensive conditions.From the background of lifelong education, this paper reorganized self-study examination of higher education development in China. The study mainly used comparative research method, literature analysis method, logical analysis method, and investigation method. The comparative research method, mainly through consulting relevant information, was used to further understand the current situation of China’s self-study examination in the vision of lifelong education, find out its advantages and existing problems, and design the integration scheme. In the process of the comparative study research, China‘s self-study examination was analyzed deeply from the perspective of innovation. The literature analysis method, on the basis of domestic and international relevant documents, mainly through the literature data collection and reference, upholding the academic principle of " wide, comprehensive, true" in the course of the study, was used to find out the innovation point and the research direction, and make a further classification for the historical development of self-study examination in China. Thelogical analysis method,which can make the structure of the thesis reasonable and rigorous, was used to study self-study examination gradully after clearly unscrambling some relative concepts.This paper, due to the limitations of available resources and my own professional level, still has many shortcomings. I sincerely hope to get valuable corrections from experts and tutors. At the same time I also hope that this thesis can contributes for the self-study examination development in the perspective of lifelong education. |
