Retired Athletes Sustainable Livelihoods Behavior In The Context Of Vulnerability

The retired athlete individual development has been plaguing sustainable development ofcompetitive sports in China and the construction of harmonious social stability, and graduallybecome the important area of research in the sports sector, a lot of sports science sector andrelated fields, experts, scholars and stakeholders started to pay attention and study the livelihoodof retired athletes. As China’s economic development and institutional reform, the athletes toachieve sustainable livelihoods, the vulnerability of background gradually revealed, whichaffects not only the athlete’s own long-term interests and the survival and development, and alsorestricted the development of China’s athletics career, but may even affect the stability of theconstruction of harmonious society in China. Therefore，This paper in-depth investigation of partof Liaoning Province athletes, and make recommendations accordingly to provide a reference forthe athletes to achieve sustainable livelihoods.In this paper, through the literature material, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics andlogical analysis methods such as analysis of athletes’ livelihood capital in the expression ofvulnerability, it mainly displays in the social background of vulnerability, industry backgroundvulnerability and athlete own vulnerability in three aspects. The social background in sportssystem reform lag, serious situation of employment and social security funds lack; industrybackground in the employment structure of a single, locomotor disability limitation and sportsfield not fairness; athletes themselves play time to short by life cycle, strong specificity ofmanpower capital and general human capital weak etc.. At the same time, this article on theathletes’ livelihood capital influence factors empirical analysis’ results show that: the influenceof athletes’ sustainable livelihood includes human capital, material capital, social capital,technical capital and the capital of the project advantage.The vulnerability analysis of context and livelihood capital based on the analysis of factorsinfluencing sustainable livelihoods, in theory, draw lessons from the life cycle theory and thehuman capital theory and the related principle, around the retired athletes’ sustainable livelihoodcapital in the access and use of the parsing, the retired athletes to achieve sustainable livelihoodframework, and for livelihood capital acquisition and use a problem to undertake the systemstudies.Athletes’ livelihood capital to obtain or use the empirical study shows that: The retired athlete of different capital cognition, attitude, their explicit behavior is also different. The details asfollows: the athletes on the general human capital cognitive attitude, behavior in general, and tothe specific human capital cognitive attitude is good, also actively; the athletes on the cognitionof social capital in good attitude, but in the acquisition and utilization behavior in general; theathletes physical capital cognitive attitude is better, in the acquisition and utilization of behavingactively; the athletes skill capital cognitive attitude is better, but in the acquisition and use ofbehavior in general; the athletes on the advantages of the project capital cognitive attitude isbetter, but in the acquisition and use of behavior in general.
