The explainatikon of "Bushou" in 《Modern Chinese Dictionary》 is "the class of Chinese characters radicals in the dictionary, such as Shan, Kou, Huo and Shi etc.""Yan" written as () in Oracle, is not hard to find that it is from the shape of human’s mouth and tongue according its form and structure. According to 《The great Chinese Dictionary》’Yan from Oracle is shaped like the tongue stretching from the mouth." Hence, based on the analysis of the structure of its radical,"Yan" belongs to "jie xing", which means that it is using the shape of mouth and tongue to present language behaviors. In addition, both Xu shen’s 《Shuo Wen Jie Zi》 and Duan Yucai’s 《Shuo Wen Jie Zi Zhu》 have the explaination of "Yan":zhi yan yue yan, lun nan yue yu,fan yan zhi shu jie cong yan.This article, which is based on 《Shuo Wen Jie Zi》 and 《Shuo Wen Jie Zi Zhu》 contains six chapters.
