Correspondence is an elegant name of the letter,correspondence as a kind ofliterary genre has a long history,it is an important part of people’s dailycommunation,those words what are verbally ill-defined inconvence or unspeakablethings are put into writing by people,correspondence also become a carrier or a toolwhich is used to express people’s feeling.But specialists and experts did not pay somuch attention to correspondence and the research content is limited,until the last tenor two years,more and more scholors begin to pay close attention to theworks,research angles are increasing,research results are going to show continuely.Currently research from the perspective of linguistics to study the works areweaker than from other perspective,this thesis chooses the Shanghai LibraryCollected Ming Dynasty Correspondence,the correspondence works are editedcarefully by Shanghai libeary,conclude586letters of correspondence works,this bookhas a large time span,high literature、history and language value.These letters workcan to a certain extent show the characters of concise,word richness, orderlyhierarchy,fixed format of the Ming Dynasty letters,furthermore,this book has a lot ofnew words which were not exist in the former dynasty,is an important material tostudy written language of the Ming Dynasty.This paper takes the Shanghai Library Collected Ming DynastyCorrespondence as the research object,the book of letters,also is the form of theworks of fixed words or statements will be analysized and counted.Firstly,the termswere classified according to the location structure in the paper, the words ofcorrespondence works are divided into four parts,the first,the main text,theconclusion,inscribedphrases,and aredescribed and analyzed specifically.Secondly,this paper summarizes the linguistic characteristics of the Shanghai Library CollectedMing Dynasty Correspondence,inorder to help people understand and ues thecorrespondence. Finally, this thesis makes a comparison between the ShanghaiLibrary Collected Ming Dynasty Correspondence、the ShuxinYongyu Dictionary andthe Qianci Jingci Wangci Dicionary about the correspondence’s production time andexamples,so it can give some help to the dictionary’s compilation and revision. In thewriting procee of this paper,the writer mainly used methods of the combination of thestatic description and the dynamic analysis,and statistical methods.
