Observations On Clinical Curative Effect About The Runhou Kaiyin Granule On Chronic Laryngitis

Chronic laryngitis is chronic non-specificity inflammation of laryngeal mucousmembrances. It’s characterized by perennial vocal hoarseness and laryngeal dryness.Chronic laryngitis is a common disease in clinic. It has three kinds: chronic simplelaryngitis, hypertropic laryngitis and atrophic laryngitis. Vocal nodules is sometimesregarded as a special kind of chronic laryngitis caused by acute laryngitis and chroniclaryngitis. Its pathogeny is not clear, but overage use of voice is one of the main reasons atpresent. It is named "jiu yin" and "chronic laryngeal yin" of TCM. From the point of viewof TCM, the pathogeny is deficiency of lung-spleen-kidney. There are a lot of reports aboutpathogeny, therapy, curative effect and prognosis of chronic laryngitis. In this thesis, we probeinto in theory and make a clinical research aiming at pathogeny, clinical manifestation andtherapy of chronic laryngitis.Objectives: Through the observation of the changes of voice, maximum vocal time andvocal cords and false vocal cords in laryngeal mirror, we evaluate the curative effect of thetherapy of Runhou kaiyin granule. At one time, we assess the efficacy and safety of thistherapy.Methods: 68 cases have been carefully chosen as study subjects according to thewestern medicine diagnostic criterion of chronic laryngitis and the TCM diagnosticcriterion of chronic laryngeal yin. All cases are divided into two groups: test group andcontrolled group. Test group is treated by Runhou kaiyin granule. Controlled group is givenJinsang liyan pills. We observe the changes of vocal hoarseness, laryngeal dryness, congestion and edema of vocal cords, close grades, maximum vocal time and results of vocalanalysis. The observing course is 21 days.Results: Prior to the study, there is no significant statistic difference between the twogroups. They are comparable. Through treating, the cured, significant effective, improved andineffective cases of test group are 0, 8, 22, 4.Its total effective rate is 88.23%.But the cured, significant effective, improved and ineffective cases of controlled group are0, 1, 28, 5. And its effective rate is 85.29%.Compared with controlled group, test group has abetter curative effect by statistical test(P＜0.05). The therapy of Runhou kaiyingranule has no side effects and low price.Conclusions: The therapy of Runhou kaiyin granule has a good curative effect ontreating chronic laryngitis.
