Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of Tie Di Run Hou Pills in the treatment of Xu Huo Shang Yan type of chronic pharyngitis.Methods:A total of 96 patients belonging to type of Xu Huo Shang Yan who were treated at the otolaryngology clinic in the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2017 to December 2017 were randomly selected into treatment and control groups according to the order of visits.48 patients were treated with basic treatment(Hua Su Pill,oral,once 2 tablets,3 times per day)+Tie Di Run Hou pills,buccal,once 10 pills,5 times a day;48 patients in the control group,Using basic treatment(Hua Su pills,oral,once 2 tablets,3 times per day)+ Xuan Mai Gan Orange lozenge,buccal,once 1 tablet,5 times per day,both groups were continuously taken for 14 days.The scores of TCM syndromes before and after treatment of the patients and the recurrence after 3 months of follow-up treatment were determined,and the clinical curative effect and the recurrence rate after treatment were determined based on the score results.Results:All the 96 cases included in this study were ultimately effective cases,including 48 cases in the treatment group and 48 cases in the control group.Statistical analysis showed that:1.Comparing the improvement of TCM clinical syndrome scores:(1)Comparison of the treatment group before and after treatment:The scores of each syndrome after treatment were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.01);(2)The comparison the control group before and after treatment:The scores of each syndrome after treatment were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.01);(3)Comparison of the syndrome scores between the two groupsafter treatment:There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of throat dryness,dry cough,sputum or no phlegm,and mucous membrane dryness in the pharyngeal area.(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the remaining syndrome scores(P>0.05).2.Comparison of the total effective rate between the two groups:total effective cases in the treatment group are 43 cases,total efficiency 87.5%,total effective cases in the control group are 39 cases,total efficiency 81.25%,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The follow-up recurrence rate at 3 months after treatment was compared in the two groups:3 patients in the treatment group had recurrence with a recurrence rate of 6.25%,and 8 patients in the control group had recurrence with a recurrence rate of 16.67%.There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).4.Before and after treatment,the safety indicators of the two groups were monitored and no obvious adverse reactions were found.Only a mild diarrhea-related gastrointestinal symptoms were observed in the control group.No treatment was given,and the drug was not discontinued.Conclusion:The treatment group and the control group both have achieved good clinical curative effect in treating Xu Huo Shang Yan type of chronic pharyngitis.The total clinical efficacy of the treatment group is better than that of the control grou;The scores of the TCM syndromes show that the treatment group is improving the dryness of the throat and cough,or no phlegm and pharyngeal mucous membrane dry better than the control group;recurrence rate:the treatment group was better than the control group;There were no obvious adverse reactions and serious adverse events during the treatment.This treatment was confirmed to be relatively safe.Therefore,Tie Di Run Hou pills worthy of clinical promotion.
