The Efficacy Of Acupotomology Combined With Ozone And Sodium Hyaluronate In The Treatment Of Essential Knee Osteoarthritis

Objective To observe the effectiveness and safety of acupotomologycombined with ozone and sodium hyaluronate for the treatment of essential kneeosteoarthritis.Methods60knee patients meet the inclusion criteria were randomelydivided into group A (the experimental group, acupotomology combined ozone+hyaluronate group) and group B (the control group, ozone+hyaluronate group).Both of the two group patients all received treatments by once per week, a totalof five times, which divided into two stages, the previous three treatments as thefirst stage, and the last two treatments as the second stage, the time interval andthe number of treatment of each stage were all the same between groups. Thefirst phase of treatment was the same in the two groups, which was ozoneintra-articular injections, the ozone concentration was40μg/ml,15ml each time,once per week, a total of3times. The treatment between groups was different inphase2, group A was received acupotomology and hyaluronate treatmentsimultaneous: given acupotomology treatment by2to3points around the kneejoint, if there was no abnormal reaction after10mins, given hyaluronateinjection treatment,2.5ml:25mg each time. Group B was only received hyaluronate injection,2.5ml:25mg each time. Both of the two groups receivedonce per week, a total of2times treatment in phase two. Compare the rangemotion of VAS score and WOMAC score and the incidence of adverse reactionsat T0(before treatment), T1(one week after the third treatment, before the fourthtreatment) and T2(one week after the fifth treatment), T3(one month aftertreatment), T4(two months after treatment) and T5(three months aftertreatment).Results1、There were thirty knee patients stick to treatment in each groups,and the gender, age, body mass index, Kellgren and Laerence grading, VASscore and WOMAC score differences had no statistical significance betweengroups (P＞0.05).2、The VAS score, WOMAC score and subscore were bothlower at each point after treatment（P＜0.05）, the VAS score, WOMAC scoreand WOMAC pain score were lowest at T4, and slightly elevated at T5; thechange of WOMAC stiffness score at T3to T5had no statistically significantdifference (P＞0.05), the WOMAC joint function score was lowest at T4, buthas no statistical significance at T4and T5(P＞0.05); The reduced range ofVAS score, WOMAC score and subscore, in group A were all greater than groupB at each view point after treatment (P＜0.05); The comparative analysisbetween groups at each point: the VAS score of group A was lower to group B atT2, T4and T5(P＜0.05); the WOMAC score and subscore of group A werelower to group B at T2to T5(P＜0.05). The VAS score connected closely withthe WOMAC pain score at all the view point.3、The adverse reactions were:piercing pain and subcutaneous emphysema, the incidence in group A were60.0%and66.7%, those were20.0%and13.3%in group B, but the differencesbetween groups has no statistical significance (P＞0.05), there was no otherobvious serious adverse reaction has discoverd. Conclusion The acupotomology combined with ozone and sodiumhyaluronate for the treatment of essential knee osteoarthritis can obviouslyrelieve pain and improve the function of knee joint, the effect is better thanozone combined with sodium hyaluronate, and haven’t seen obvious seriousadverse reactions, it’s a kind of safe and effective treatment.
