Objective To study the most appropriate treatment and concentration of the ozone to cure knee osteoarthritis,and to evaluate whether the treatment of ozone combined with sodium hyaluronate can reduce the amount of pure sodium hyaluronate.Methods 80 knees were divided into A,B,C,D 4 groups,each 20 knees,first injected 15ml medical ozone with different concentration into the knee joint cavity once a week 3 for weeks,the concentration of medical ozone were 20μg/ml,30μg/ml and 40μg/ml,and all of them applied sodium hyaluronate 2ml/times·week for 3 weeks. Floating patella test before puncture for all patients,when puncturing,select the inside of the knee to puncture with the needle 6,determine the needle in the knee joint cavity and had no adverse reaction,injected the drugs,sterile dressing paste after each operation and active knee flexion and extension 15-20 times.To compare the range motion of patients after 1,3 weeks with ozone of different concentrations and 3 weeks with sodium hyaluronate by VAS,ROM and the joint function changes by Lysholm score,determine the optimal concentration of ozone,then injected into knee joint cavity of sodium hyaluronate(2ml/time·week) for 5 weeks for D group used the same method,compared with the best effect of ozone,the range motion of patients by VAS and ROM score,the joint function changes by Lysholm score and the treatment effect,after 5 weeks of sodium hyaluronate and 6 weeks of ozone combine with sodium hyaluronate.Results The VAS score was significantly decreased in C group after 1 week for ozone treatment and it was significantly faster than the A,B groups (P<0.05),after 3 weeks for the sodium hyaluronate treatment,ROM range of motion were increased in all patients than before (P<0.05).In C group, Lysholm joint function score was significantly increased after the ozone treatment for 3 weeks(P<0.05),and it was faster than the A,B groups(P<0.05). In C group,the score of joint swelling,pain,lameness and the excellent rate were significantly higher than D group(P<0.05).The main adverse reactions were needle pain and subcutaneous emphysema,the range of motion and joint function were improved significantly after treatment than before(P<0.05).Conclusions The treatment of 40μg/ml ozone combined sodium hyaluronate is better than 20μg/ml and 30μg/ml ozone,it can effectively reduce the volume of sodium hyaluronate,and it is safe and effective to KOA patients with joint swelling and pain,it can improve range of motion and the quality of life in KOA patients and relieve economic pressure in patients.So it is worth to promote in KOA patients.
