Study On Professional Training Modeling Of Pharmacy Administration In China

Pharmacy administration (hereinafter PA) is the important sub-discipline andinter-discipline of pharmacy, which occurred in the early20thcentury and has been takingits progressive development. As a rising subject, it has several inevitable problems,including the imperfect curriculums and undergraduates cultivation mode, due to its shorttime development. In order to promote these defects, the undergraduates cultivations relatedto the PA should be attached more importance.Through literature review, this thesis first considered the course of development as wellas current situation of education about the PA at home and aboard in retrospect. Comparingwith aboard, this subject at home is relatively backward in development. This thesis alsoanalyzed situation of undergraduate cultivations target, curriculums and theory practicefrom three universities that established PA majors, aiming at discuss the characteristics ofthis subject at home. The education of PA is still under exploration in China and theauthorized degrees about this subject have not been categorized. Some defects incurriculums are as follows:(1) the numbers and study of specialized courses are limited tocertain extent by Ministry of Education in terms of requirements about common courses;(2)the cohesion of the courses is not reasonable enough;(3) with several limitation, thecontent of theory practice is little and not much attention is paid on it, which is exactlynecessary for the basic requirement about this subject. Therefore, summarizing someexperiences that merit learning from other countries could be an inspiration for thedevelopment of PA in China. Meanwhile, by employing the method of questionnaire investigation and study, theauthor worked out three types of questionnaire that aim at employers, full-time teachers forPA and undergraduates majoring in this subject. The research mainly focused on concreteviews and requirements about PA from employers, opinions and suggestions from full-timeteachers about PA as well as knowledge, capability and self-appraisal from undergraduatesabout PA. Moreover, this thesis collected advices from specialists on PA in types of forum,aiming at summarize the market demand about this subject.Finally, based on the above research, this thesis primarily raised the constructingstrategies about undergraduates cultivation mode on PA, which are as follows:(1) make aclear definition about PA and fulfill its planning and development as well;(2) strengthen thecultivating and training for undergraduates and faculties on this subject;(3) attach moreimportance on practice and take social requirements about PA in consideration. This thesisalso provided a good reference for newly established PA majors in GuangdongPharmaceutical University, achieving the goal that satisfied cultivation for undergraduateswith strong practical capability and adoption for future demands about the subject.
