In recent years, some general bridge design software are always used as bridgeconstruction monitoring tools, for example, the MIDAS. However, the bridgeconstruction monitoring is different with the bridge design, and the theory ofconstruction monitoring is developed rapidly, meanwhile, it is needed to considerspecial and complex problems in bridge construction period. The general bridge designsoftware are not suitable for the bridge construction monitoring. So, the specifiedsoftware for the bridge construction monitoring is necessary. In this paper, based on thetheory of finite element and theory of bridge construction monitoring, the BCMsoftware (bridge construction monitoring software) is developed for these purpose.Firstly, the background, organization, interface designs, and menu designs areintroduced in this paper. Especially, the model of date input is detail introduced. Thetable and graph display function of model, loads and calculative results are illustrated.In which, the graph display function is dynamic.Second, based on the theory of three-dimensional finite, the fundamentalcalculative functions of the software are formatted. Seven different kinds of element isincluded in this software for simulating different structural members, such as beam,truss, cable, rigid beam and rigid connect. In these difference elements, the beamelement is divided into three different kinds for considering the eccentric, sheardeformation and torsion deflection. Rigid boundary constraint, elastic boundaryconstraint and Master-slave point constraint are supported. Concentrated force, uniformdistributed loads, temperature loads, pre-stress loads and support displacement are allcould be applied in the software.Third, according to the characteristic of the construction monitoring, the compliedmethod of the main function are explicitly introduced. The geometrical non-linear isconsidered in the software. And the "sequence analysis" and "inverted sequenceanalysis" can be realized for the monitoring the every construction stage. Theseconstruction stages are structural changes, constrain changes, loads changes, supportchange, temperature loads change, pre-stress tensing and removing, step by stepconstruction for combined section and the adjustment of cable force. This new bridgeconstruction monitoring software can forecast and trace altitude for every constructionstage, and provide every stage’s displacement, stress and forces. All of increment and accumulation form outcomes can be obtained using this software.Then, the Hekou bridge is modeled as a example for verifying the new bridgeconstruction monitoring software, the correctness and reliable are proved by the resultsfrom the example. In finally, how to corporate well the software with the monitoringworks is introduced.The Matlab、Excel and VC++software are used for realized the new bridgeconstruction monitoring software. The software is new and advance.
