With the deepening research of the wetland, more and more people have known the importance of the wetland resources on the development of human society. But focus on the status of wetlands in the world today, we have to worry about the prospects of the wetland resource. The cruel reality make people reflect on their own behavior that bring destruction to the wetland. The cruel reality also places a thorny issue in front of the world:how to protect the wetland effectively.The methods of wetland protection are varied, such as the construction of wetland protected areas, improve wetland protection legislation, increase the propaganda of wetland conservation, etc. And in practice, they all play a special utility. In this thesis, use the environmental impact assessment system in wetland protection as the starting point, discussion how to use the environmental impact system to protect wetland. Analysis the implement inadequacies of the environmental impact system in wetland protection, and put forward a sound advice.The reason to choose the environmental impact assessment system as the starting point is:the environmental impact assessment system belongs to prevention means, it can predict the impact that the proposed activities brings to the environmental, in order to determine whether the proposed activities able to carry out. Prevent the generation of hazardous is the best method to protect wetland. Because of that we can not make wetland back to the original state after the destruction. However, at the present stage of China, from the effectiveness of wetland protection, the environmental impact assessment system did not play its proper role. Based on this phenomenon, this thesis analyze from which part environmental impact assessment system effects on wetlands protection, what is the shortage of the existing environmental impact assessment system in wetland protection, and how to improve it.The main text is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is an overview of wetlands and wetland protection. Start from the concept of wetland; describe the foreign and Chinese wetland protection; analyze of the benefit conflict in wetland protection. At the end of this chapter, lead to the issue that to be the lever of the benefit conflict in wetland protection, the wetland assessment is play a very important role in wetland protection. The second chapter combine wetland protection and environmental impact assessment system, discuss why apply the environmental impact assessment system to the protection of ecological resources, and the concrete application of environmental impact assessment system in wetland protection. The third chapter put forward a sound advice on the environmental impact assessment system in wetland protection. Analyze the shortages of environmental impact assessment system in China. The fourth chapter is about the different between the environmental impact assessment system in wetland protection and the environmental impact assessment system in other cases. And pointed out that to achieve the sustainable development of China’s wetland resources, the existing environmental impact assessment system should be improved, in order to play a more significant role in the protection of wetland resources.
