This paper takes Baoxing as the case study area, analyzing the change offorest landscape in space and time and evaluating the ecological value based on thetheories and methods of remote sensing, geographic information systemtechnology, landscape ecology and ecological compensation. We choose multi-TMimages, DEM data, land Second survey data, and Google Earth’s high-definition videoas data source. These results are as follows:①In the last twenty years of vicissitudes, Although Baoxing’s forest hasexperienced earthquakes and drought, the coniferous forest area is getting larger andecological environment is getting better.②In the last twenty years of change, on the one hand, mixed broadleaf-coniferforest has been the principal part of forest landscape in Baoxing, accounting for morethan65%. On the other hand, due to frequent human activities and development ofeconomy, the number of patches and landscape fragmentation have been increasinggradually.③In the last twenty years of transform, the biggest problem of broad-leavedforest is patch fragment more seriously. What’s more, the biggest patch has beenshrinking and the number of patches have been on the rise.④Through the theory and method of ecological compensation, we calculates theecological value of Baoxing forest landscape is about352million yuan, ecologicalcompensation value is about3678.45yuan/ha. Compared with the current compensationsystem, this paper draws a conclusion that the ecological benefit of forest is notrecognized correctly by the market, producers do not get the corresponding valuecompensation.
