Research On Marine Ecological Carrying Capacity

21century is the century of the ocean. With the increase of social population, energy andmineral resources reserves dwindling, and the rapid development of science and technology,the marine economy to the country and nation increasingly prominent. Marine economy hasbecome a new stage of economic competition. There is no denying that, the problems such asthe shortage of marine resources, the immature of emerging resource development technology,varying degrees of destruction of ecological environment have been restricting thedevelopment of marine economy. From the perspective of the theory and method, this studyintegrated carrying capacity research methods at home and abroad, attempts to put ecosystemhealth in marine ecological carrying capacity. A case study in Liaoning Province to buildmarine ecological carrying capacity based on ecosystem health index system and evaluationstandard, trying to analysis the ecological carrying situation and marine ecological healthlevel of the system and the coordination degree between marine ecosystem and marineeconomic development. At last, use the four methods for marine ecological carrying capacityto prediction analysis. This study is of significance for marine economic future developmentgoals. The main conclusions are as follows:First, the results demonstrate that marine ecological carrying capacity index rises up, itsindex rose from0.0724in2000to0.2184in2010, and the state of ecosystem increase formun-health level to sub-health level. The resource and environment carrying capacity remainssub-health level in the long time. The ecological resilience increase from un-health level tosub-health level and reach the health level in2010. The potential human activities remainun-health level and this situation takes a turn for the better in almost two years.Second, between2000and2010, marine economy and the resources and environmentcoordinated development degree has realized the transition to coordinated development.Marine economy and resource environment comprehensive coordination degree show “V”characteristics, degree of coordination development show stage characteristics. Third, from the prediction results, resource and environment carrying capacity index ofthe future trend is stable. The ecological resilience carrying capacity index increase daily. Thepotential human activities are worrying. The marine ecological carrying capacity level is stillpessimistic.
