Research On The Plan And Risk Management Of The FTTH Project In Jimei Division

Fiber To The Home (FTTH) has being a technology trend pursuit and explored for recent years, With the support of national policy, competition between telecommunication operators, profit pursuit, and the prices of equipment being decreased, FTTH has been developed rapidly. Given the fact that FTTH construction is a gradual process, on the one hand, the maturity of technology needs to be carefully considered, on the other hand, potential customers and market need to be cultivated and a variety of new business also has to be promoted to attract new customers to use FTTH in the process of FTTH network construction and promotion. Therefore, the efficiency and reasonable layout and construction of FTTH will be the key for China Telecom Group to increase its market share, enhance its competitive ability and improve its profits.In this thesis, we view Jimei Division of China Telecom Group Xiamen Branch as an example, use project management theory to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the FTTH network solution. Then, we illustrate FTTH network’s construction models and risk factor in its construction process and give some risk management solutions. The results will not only be beneficial for Jimei Division to make all its related project more successful, but also provide good experience to other related department in relation to FTTH network construction. So the reseach will has both a theoretical and practical value.
