On the basis of my management practice in V department store, this paper discussed the issue about how to govern the associate employees’informal organization in department store. Firstly, this paper expounded the informal organization theory. Secondly, this paper elaborated the connotation and characteristics of associate employees’informal organization, and deeply analyzed the reasons for the formation of the associate employees’informal organization. After analyzing the essential characteristics of associate employees, the difference between associate employees and general employees, this paper excavated the factors which influence the formation of associate employees’informal organization, and then analyzed the associate employees’informal organization’s influence on formal organization Thirdly, this paper developed governance strategies of the associate employees’informal organization of V department store. After arguing the inevitability of emergence of associate employees’informal organization, this paper pointed out that we should take a correct attitude towards its existence, developed a guiding principle for associate employees’informal organization, and proposed a classified governance perspective for associate employees’ informal organization. According to different types of informal organization, this paper presented different governance ways. This paper also pointed out that we should pay attention to the management of central figure among informal organization in the process of associate employees’informal organization governance, establish a comprehensive performance appraisal system, and strengthen the construction of enterprise culture related to associate employees Finally, this paper discussed the necessity of governance inheritance and innovation on associate employees’informal organization.
