The Research And Implementation Of Project Management System Based On Workflow Technology

The South-North Water Diversion Project the largest of its kind ever undertaken is a’strategic infrastructure projects to optimize the allocation of water resources and address the severe water shortage in north China.Diversity of projects,clusters of projects,open management,regional differences,and other characteristics of South-North Water Diversion Project decide the complexity of the Project Management System of South-north Water Diversion Project.Application process management is the key functions of the Project Management System of South-north Water Diversion Project.The project project,preliminary design,investment plans,control the progress are all involved a large number of approval process.The units involved in are The Development and Reform Commission,the Ministry of Water Resources as well as provincial-level Central Office of the South-North Water Diversion.Although many of the units’ e-government platforms have achieved the approval process management,there are poor level of standardization,heterogeneous systems,bad system integration and many other issues.Along with the principles of software reuse,we want to maximize the use of the approval process which have realized.In this paper,we study of the technical project management,workflow technology,Web Service technology deeply and use those technologies in project management system.The current workflow management system can not directly support the Web Service Technology,and in the actual development often requires a lot of hard-coded to monitor the implementation of Web Service.When the workflow change or Web service changes,software engineers need to modify a large number of coded to adapt to the new process.In this paper,we define the concept of Web Service Adapter.The core workflow engine and Web Service are integrated by the adapter layer.Another contribution of this paper is the need to call the Web Service in the nodes is decided by the existence of "the context variables with specific name".We do secondary development based on the JBPM core workflow engine,and achieve the Web Service Adapter in the workflow engine.Integrate the core workflow engine of JBPM and Web Service adapter,to form a web service-enabled workflow engine named WSJBPM.Finally,this paper shows the web service-enabled workflow engine used in Project Management System of South-north Water Diversion Project successfully.
