The Students’"in school" statuses refer to students’daily activities are in the prescribed region of campus, and long absence from school without asking for leave. Masterery of students’"in school" statuses informations is an important term of the school safety manag-ement. At present, most colleges and universities don’t have a very effective method for the investigation of student’s "in school" statuses. In order to prevent the students form leaving school for a long time and causing safety accidents, a kind of early warning system about students’"in school" statuses that base on Wireless sensor networks combined with finger-print acquisition technology is designed.ZigBee technology is used as the communication protocol of wireless sensor networks in the system, and obtains the students’fingerprint informations by it. The wireless network is designed four nodes:acquisition node, inspections node, routing node and the coordinator node. The acquisition node is configured in students’dormitory, students can be collected their own fingerprints at any time of the day, fingerprint matching information is transmitted to the coordinator by a number of routing nodes in the wireless network, then the coordinator transfers it to the server through the serial port. Inspections node is controlled by the instructor, the advisor of the student and the dormitory adminis-trator, it mainly has the following three functions:first, when students can’t enroll the fingerprint that not obey with school rules and unconsciously admitted enroll a fingerprint and have some special cases, the class teachers and administrators can use it to collecting students’fingerprints; secondly, dormitory administrators can carry the node when they are inspecting quarters to judge the student whether is living in the building through brushing his fingerprints when found suspicious person; finally, inspections node can use as a spare acquisition node to upload students’fingerprint when the node in the student dormitory is damaged. All nodes of ZigBee network use the CC2530system on a chip as the MCU, and are designed the software portion of the node on the basis of ZStack protocol stack. The acquisition node and inspections node are configured fingerprint module for fingerprint information.Serial communication software architecture based on C/S (Client/Server) and the early warning system based on B/S (Brower/Server) architecture to provide access to remote users in the Windows system environment are designed. Serial communication software includes the coordinator of communications and the fingerprint module communications. The former is responsible to receive and parse the fingerprint matching information that ZigBee network transmits to the host computer. The latter is used to set the relevant parameters of the fingerprint module and to ensure the normal work.The early warning system base on B/S structure could help users to obtain history information about students’"in school" statuses and provide early warning function. When instructor and the advisor of the student login the page, the color change on the page and the pop-up window will provide the students’ abnormal state in the school, and take the initiative to send SMS to notice the instructor, the advisor of the student and dormitory administrator. The system also be able to handle the students’leave, while preserve the electronic version of the written request for leave, which can be good assistance for the Manager.
