Nowadays, with the wide use of Internet, a series of creative fashion buzzwords boom in thenetwork. As a part of ‘network language’, these online buzzwords are quite energetic in ‘the thirdlanguage revolution’ and can be used to study the changes of public psychological demands.With the highly development of citizens’ awareness, the function of online buzzwords hastransferred to provide suggestions of public issues instead of saving time. These onlinebuzzwords which come from public issues can represent the suggestions from civil through theway of association. Obviously, the online buzzwords not only have economic, social and culturalvalue, but also become symbols of Internet users.It shows the political function of online buzzwords has already been recognized by publicafter the appearance of several tides which were raised by online buzzword. At the same time,their effects on public decisions and participations are quite important during the improvement ofInternet public sphere. As it known to all, it is very essential to discuss the online buzzwordsfrom the view of public sphere, and to analysis their propagation characteristics as well as theconnection with public opinions since these online buzzwords have won the rights of speechmany times. The way to maximize the political effectiveness of online buzzwords and to buildthe public field is becoming an urgent topic for China.This passage focuses on these buzzwords which come from public issues. Firstly, thispassage illustrates the connection between buzzwords and public sphere and obtains the generalfeathers that online buzzwords have. They are communal contents, free access and criticalattitude. Secondly, the article answers the question that why these online buzzwords can expressthe thoughts and demands of pubic. Then the EMU accident happened on July23th,2011waschosen as an example to show the mechanism that how these online buzzwords transfer to thesymbols of Internet users. From what the passage has discussed above, we can draw a conclusionthat online buzzwords have played an important role in the improvement of online public sphere.But how these online buzzwords influence public sphere? What extent that this influence canreach? In order to answer these questions, I conducted an investigation about onlineparticipations for a month. After analyzing the statistics obtained from these326questionnaires,it shows that online buzzwords not only can expand the amount of online participation andbroaden the range of issues which public concerned, but also can prompt the attitude of online participations transfer to be positive. However, every corn has two sides. This investigation alsoshows some negative impacts of online buzzwords. Sad to say, online buzzwords turned out to beVandals about simple, moody and non-political participations.In order to study the relationship between buzzwords and online public sphere, this articlecombines methods of theoretical and practical research. Although this article has somedeficiencies, it still has a far-reaching meaning for opening a door to illustrate the backgroundand practical values of buzzwords in sociological, psychological and cultural views.
