As china’s largest standardized test, college entrance examination (CEE) is the focus of both the community and the mass media. CEE in China has experienced a number of reforms during35years since1977. Although it has raised a variety of arguments, the media has kept reporting on it. In2012, it brought the most serious CEE with a series of strict policies was introduced. And therefore the media turned to paid more attention on the examination, and thus sated off another climax of media reports on CEE.From which point of view do the media report CEE? How do the media report the test? What’s the media reality of the test? What’s the attitude do the media towards CEE, objective reported or over-reported? Are there any differences of the report framework before and after CEE enrollment? Do the issue evolutions of CEE reports have something to do with its system changes? These will be studied in this paper.As a part of education news, CEE reports have an important practical significance. Having this kind of reports been analyzed will help to sort out the rule of such reports, learn lessons from the reports, and provide references for future reports. In this paper, reports of CEE from1978to2012in Guangming Daily will be studied.The theme is to find the changes of the report framework of CEE reported on the newspaper during more than thirty years from both horizontal and vertical aspects, then to summarize the changes and analyze its reasons. In addition, combined with the transformation of Guangming Daily, the process of the issue changes of CEE reports will be analyzed under the context of China’s social development and the policy changes of CEE, hoping to provide clues and ideas for future media reports about CEE.
