As a new short distance wireless communication technique, with its characteristic advantages of low power consumption, low complexity of wireless network and low cost, ZigBee has been used widely in different situations, such as industrial control, agricultural environmental monitoring, smart home and urban traffic management. Meanwhile, as an important achievement of wireless communication technology and microelectronic technology, ZigBee laid an important technical foundation for the widespread use of wireless sensor network (WSN). The implementation based on ZigBee technique as the core part of design in wireless monitoring system is featured with self-organizing and self-healing, which is in line with the requirements for the high stability of the system and high reliability of data transmission in modern industrial monitoring network.In viewing of the shortcomings that exit in the traditional mechanical pressure gauge monitoring, a sensor network monitoring system based ZigBee wireless technology used for pressure monitoring for marine airbags is introduced in this paper, which aims to solve the shortcomings of the traditional mechanical pressure monitoring gauge. The design of the overall structure for the wireless sensor network monitoring system mainly includes the node hardware platform and node software. And the node hardware platform contains the devices such as network coordinator, repeater and data collection node, which are based on Texas Instrument’s CC2530chip. In addition, the sampling sensor for air pressure is realized by the sensor MPX5700. And the node software development also includes the design of the application for network coordinator, repeater and data collection node, which are mainly based on the ZigBee protocol stack of Z-Stack introduced by Texas Instrument. Test results show that the collection result of air pressure data acquisition is stable and reliable. The node hardware platform added the RF Front-End chip CC2591has an ideal communication distance and low loss rate for data transmission, also, the ZigBee communication network built by network coordinator functions stably, and the power consumption can basically meet the requirements of the system.The main work finished in this paper includes following aspects:(1) Detailed analysis of the framework and each layer’s standards of IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee.(2) Introduced the overall scheme of air pressure monitoring system based on ZigBee wireless technology in the second chapter of this paper which also elaborated on the function and the system architecture designed of this thesis.(3) From the view of hardware, the principle of wireless communication module, data acquisition circuit of the pressure sensor, power supply circuit and the interface circuit design between PC and coordinator were highlighted.(4) Software realization includes the program design for each hardware node, the detailed process of coordinator’s establishing network, as well as relay node’s joining and start routing function, data acquisition node’s joining network are also emphasized.
