This paper applies the wireless sensor network to the field of wild heritage in environmental monitoring system, which combines the advantages and characteristics of wireless sensor network with the application background of heritage Conservation. This could give researchers the data of the environment that to preserve the heritage and give the precaution. After deeply analyzing the characteristics of wild heritage scenarios, we take the advantages of wireless sensor networks for low-power, low-cost and easy networking. Aimed at the special requirements of the wild heritage, an environmental monitoring system based on WSN is proposed. Considering the current popular wireless communication technology, we choose the ZigBee, which has the advantages of low data throughput, low power and huge network capacity, as the wireless communication technology of the system. The design uses TI’s single-chip CC2530and sensors solution to realize the function of collecting information and data transmission for the system. The system mainly consists of the ZigBee network and the perimeter network. One of the ZigBee network includes sensors nodes and ZigBee gateway nodes, which adopt Modular design to facilitate the debugging of the system and the expansion of nodes. The sensor nodes are mainly responsible for collecting the environment or the vibration information of the wild heritage. By selecting the appropriate sensor chip and a reasonable circuit design, the sensor nodes are smaller and lower power consumption. ZigBee gateway nodes communicate with the sensor nodes via the wireless network, and access the remote monitoring host through the perimeter network. On the software side, we make the deep research on the architecture of Z-Stack, system network and software design of nodes, which is based on the semi-open-source protocol stack. According to the distribution of the sensor nodes, the system can make the ZigBee star and cluster-tree topology come true, and which has the functions of self-organizing, self-healing, nodes dynamically add and delete. The wireless environmental monitoring system can realize multi-point multi-regional monitoring. According to the remote monitoring the system can achieve the purpose of the protection of wild heritage. At the same time that system has a reference value in other extended application of wireless sensor networks.
