How Do Journalists Use The Internet To Expand The News Report Under The New Media Age?

In the summer of2012, I went to depth reports department of Nanfang Metropolis Daily to be an intern.During the nearly90-day internship, I independently or participatory joined almost30topics, finished around50reports, which accumulated more than80,000words.In the process of my intern, I gradually learn a system of operating network news, in other words, how to use internet to produce news content, by my own experience and the study of other journalists and editors.Also, as the practice continued, I began to doubt,’in the new media age, do the journalists need to go to the scene or not?’I did some thinking about this question.According to the master’s training program, this article chooses the’internship works+elaborated summary’form. Thus, it does not belong to the academic papers in the strict sense, but a report.So, this report is mainly about the Nanfang Metropolis Daily’s report on7·21Rainstorm in Beijing’and my elaboration of the internship. It concludes a law of how do papers use internet to produce news content:how to use microblog, forum, etc to find news; how to find the party of an event by internet; how to avoid potential risks in the reports by using the internet not on the scene.Besides, to answer questions like’whether the journalists should be on scene or not’, this article propose two basic principles:1. An issue happened, but the influence will last for a while, journalists should be on scene;2. When the event is happened and the site will continue exist for some time, journalists should be on scene.This problem is a practical problem, owing to the lack of my knowledge and experience, this problem is still in the process of understanding. Thus this article can only show my acknowledge by now, which has to be limited. However, it’s just an initiate, and let the latecomers to learn and critical.
