ECG is a subject which has strong practice, and its theory is complex and abstract. The ECG instruction is very important and difficult in diagnostics instruction. In traditional ECG instruction, teachers use papery materials or their copies. Students cannot have intuitive understanding for ECG. And they lack of practical experience in clinical practice.To do well in the ECG instruction it must combine theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.Aiming at the shortcomings in recent ECG instruction, the paper develops the ECG assisted instruction system. The system contains two parts, hardware and software. The hardware part contains simulation system and ECG acquisition system. ECG simulation system is mainly used for the storage of ECG data and output various ECG cases. The software part contains ECG data transfer procedure and ECG multimedia system. Multimedia system gets ECG datas from simulation system for dynamic displaying. It enables students to understand and remember them easily.The paper analyzes the characteristics of12-lead ECG waveform data. And the system compresses the ECG data before storage; it can save the storage space and improve the efficiency of data transmission. Then aiming at the MCS-51single-chip, the paper researches and implements a method to access data address space more than64KB, which has been applied in the system. With using high-capacity Flash Memory, simulation system is able to store thousands of cases. With the help of data downloading program, the system can easily download the data.The system takes some anti-jamming measures to improve the system. In ECG acquisition system, USB controller which contains SPI interface is used to communicate with PC. By isolating the SPI interface, USB isolation is implemented indirectly. Multimedia system uses the method of the translation invariant wavelet threshold to pretreat ECG data. It can effectively keep the ECG singular point and get accurate ECG data.By using this system, students can combine theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. And students have intuitive understanding for ECG. It achieves the purpose of improving the teaching effect.
