| Digital filtering is an important branch in the digital signal processing field, which has avery wide range of applications in the voice image processing, pattern recognition, spectralanalysis, wireless communications and other fields. The input signal carrying the complexinformation was transformed into output with new time domain/frequency domain featuresvia a filter operation, for the reason that the output retains the desired information and alsofiltered off the ssuperfluous ones. For modern communication, information have to bemodulated before its transmission to suit the characteristics of the band-limited channel. Thecontradictions between band-limited channel and mobile communications are notincompatible; the forming filtering technology is a good solution to this contradiction.Research and upgrade of the filter have not been stopped, from the previous analogfiltering to today’s digital filtering, the former frequency domain filtering to the present’stime-domain filtering, from one-time integrated circuit filtering to the current’s programmablelogic filtering, the light of science and technology keep shining on the onward pace of theresearchers generation after generation. Shaping filter has also become an essential part ofmodern electronic technology.In the field of some complex systems such as the communication products, videoequipment and image products, DSP can’t accomplish the work of digital signal processingvery well;And in most of the repeated superimposed work full of multiplication and add,theDSP showed some limitations as well. FPGA is obviously more good and relaxed for thesedifficulties.With the addition of its excellent qualities exactly as the power, flexibility andefficiency of digital features and its integrated scale factory cycle, FPGA become the firstchoice for the design of the FIR filter.The paper discussed about the development, structure,classification, development process, design methods and implementations of the FIR filtering,especially about the high-speed filtering technology of the broadband baseband signal basedon FPGA. This design chose Xilinx the XC5VLX50-1FFG676C in the family V5series tobuild digital shaping filter, which uses FPGA internal IP core to implement the cascade at its all levels. The performance of the filter has been simulated comprehensively on thecompany’s self-developed software platform ISE. Finally, in paper we compared the resourceconsumption in the different structure of FIR digital filter for analysis. |
