Along with the development of electronic information, network and communication technology, the logistics industry grows rapidly to be a new service industry which is of unlimited potential and development space in recent years. Today, modern logistics has already become one of the important pillar industry to promote national economy development.The proportion which logistic accounts for has become larger and larger in our daily life, the dependence people rely on the logistics has become higher and higher. It is become the urgent needs of people to obtain the information and real-time status of the goods during logistics process. At present, tracking and monitoring of goods logistics process and control storage can be achieved through a variety of techniques.Considering the actual enviroment of real-time monitoring system which works in and costs and other factors, this paper selects PDF417bar code technology which belongs to two-dimensional bar code to achieve remote real-time monitor in logistics. PDF417bar code not only has advantages of general two-dimensional code including a large amount of information, good security, low cost and long service life, also has advantanges of wide coding,error correction capability and so on. It is very suitable for this system."In this paper, the system is based on the SOPC embedded technology. It is embeded NIOS Ⅱ soft core processor in FPGA as the core of the remote real-time monitoring system. It can obtain the information and real-time status of the goods during logistics process through the process from acquiring PDF417bar data to obtaining the decoded data,display real-time data and send data to computer database through wireless transceiver module.Using the Quartus Ⅱ and the SOPC Builder development tools to complete the hardware configuration of the NIOS Ⅱ processor system. Using the NIOS II IDE integrated development environments to complete decoding part of the software designing, compiling, and debugging. Because the bar code image collection, preprocessing, orientation and registration of these algorithms are mostly with large calculation.However, the rands of the complexity of the algorithm is not so large,using FPGA hardware to achieve its function directly. For barcode character code word extraction, error correction and decoding implementation,these algorithms is relatively complex, use NIOS II IDE to program implementation.Finally, debugging the hardware of the whole system.Test results show that the system can run stably in operation, less affected by the environment, the recognition of PDF417bar code also has higher accuracy.
