Since the seventys, the embedded operating system has experienced the three stagesof development:1、Single chip programmable controller;2、Embedded CPU combinedwith a simple operating system;3、Special embedded operating system. However, as theFPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) gradually increase and microelectronicsindustry develop rapidly,Embedded operating system is the direction of the futuredevelopment which will be the SOPC(System On a Programmable Chip) technology.Source of the topic of this thesis and mentor national natural fund project "intelligentelectric control key based on the SOPC technology research"(Project approval no:61161010), which based on embedded real-time operating system of the SOPC,isfinished,To view domestic and foreign related information in the SOPC, Summrize theclassic development deficiency of embedded operating system, Researching its designmethod of hardware and software collaborative. Based on the Cyclone II of Alteracompany (EP2C8Q208C) FPGA chip as the hardware platform, using the Nios IIsoftware technology study a system. This thesis structure arrangement is: Through designing the real-time multitaskingsystem to verify the SOPC software and hardware characteristics of collaborative designmethod. Firstly this paper introduces the hardware and software developmentprocessly, which was compared with the traditional design methods; Secondly, familiarwith Altera SOPC developed process and tools; Finally focus on the characteristics andthe migration process of the μCOS-II. Building soft core of NIOS II and embeddedreal-time operating system(μCOS-II) of the software development methods andprocesses are studied. Through the hardware and software,it designs a SOPC system.
