With the standard of living rise, people pay increasingly attention to thecomfortable living environment and the family of safety. Because the traditionalhousehold monitoring system used wire monitoring way. It did not only needspecial guard monitoring information and wiring was complex, lackedintelligence. This paper applies embedded Linux operating system as a softwaredevelopment platform, and uses the Web technology and GPRS technology todesign the smart home supervision system. It has low power consumption, lowcost and easy control, intelligence characteristics.This thesis analyses the theory of the embedded Linux operating system, theWeb technology, the network transmission technology based on the RTP/RTCPprotocol and GPRS wireless transmission technology, and realizes a kind of smarthome monitoring system based on ARM embedded system. The hardware systemuses ARM920T S3C2440processor as a hardware core, uses MC35i GPRSwireless communication module, USB camera, temperature detection module,smoke detection module, infrared sensor module, and realizes the collection of allkinds of indoor information. When the system’s sensors test abnormal condition,the system can send a message to users by GPRS. Users can realize real-timemonitor to the house by the Internet.The system software includes embedded operation system’s manufacture andthe writing of the application program. Its manufacture mainly includes thetransplant of Bootloader, the cutting, configuration and transplant of Linux kerneland manufacture of the file system. The system achieves every sensor dataacquisition program design, video acquisition program design, GPRS wirelessdata to send message program design. The sending function of GPRS wirelessdata message is realized in the workbench of Linux. The implementation of thesystem includes the transplant and configuration of the embedded Web server Boa, and CGI programs was designed for system to remote monitoring andmanagement.The system realizes automatic alarm for mobile phone users by GPRSwireless communication and the remote monitoring and transmission of videoimage information by Internet. The system has been designed for the people tothe requirements of convenient, comfort and safe household environment. It haspractical value.
