With economic development, the acceleration of the industrialization process, the normal operation of the large equipments has became a key factor in safety production, speeding up scientific and technological progress and saving maintenance costs, and then the equipment condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technology is put forward. It can determine the equipments are normal or abnormal, to early detect the faults and the causes and forecast the development trend of failure.It can bring significant economic and social benefits if it is used correctly.The overall design plan of the core board of the data acquisition device has been proposed and a wireless core board based on AT91SAM9263microprocessor and Linux operating system has been designed in this paper according to the current situation and practical needs of the equipment monitoring system, combined with embedded technology and wireless communication technology. The core board is mainly responsible for arrangement and package of the front-end collected data and sending the data to the monitoring station through ASUS WL-167G wireless card with TCP/IP protocol to further analyze and process the data.The hardware implementation process of the core board and the design of each module circuit diagram are described in detail in this article. The core board consists of two parts:the minimum system of the AT91SAM9263microcontroller, Flash, SDRAM memory and part of the10/100ethemet interface are highly integrated on a board; external expanding interfaces,such as USB interface circuit, touch-screen interface, LCD interface and a variety of debug interface placed on the bottom board. The focal discussion point has been put on the process of migrating Linux operating system in this article. The division of storage space of the AT91SAM9263microcontroller is introduced. The process of bootloader (the U-Boot and Bootstrap) starting the AT91SAM9263microcontroller is explored. The boot loader (U-Boot and Bootstrap)and embedded Linux operating system kernel are compiled. Initialization, opening and close, sending and receiving data of the USB wireless network card are also realized in this paper, based on the analysis of the architecture of the driver in embedded Linux operating system.The key technologies of developing driver are described. Finally,the USB wireless network card driver is compiled and transferred to the core board.After the function tests of the serial and USB interfaces in the core board, the wireless core board based on the AT91SAM9263processor and Linux operating systems is applied in turbine generator online equipment monitoring system in Thermoelectric Division Yueyang and the bandwidth test is carried out. The practice shows that the core board works properly, fully meeting the requirements of industrial production, becoming more compact, convenient, faster transfering data through the wireless network card and expanding the application scope of the equipment monitoring system.
