The embedded system is take the application as a center, take the computer technology as the foundation, as soon as and the software and hardware may cut out, is suitable for the application system to the function, the reliability, the cost, the volume, the power loss has the strict request special-purpose idea to calculate machine the system today which grows unceasingly in the embedded system demand, Linux also relies on its essence small, may reduce, the resources rich and the hardware support widespread superior characteristic joins to the embedded system development camp, and obtains professional's approval gradually. Uses Linux to carry on the question which the embedded development needs to face mainly to have two: One is the operating system transformation, reduces the essence perhaps rewrites Linux the memory management, the process dispatching mechanism also has one is directly the equipment driver design development.This article will study the key point has placed in the Linux equipment driver design. The article first introduced the embedded system, the embedded Linux system and the merit, the analysis have compared several kind of embedded systems, then in detail introduced the Linux equipment driver principle of design as well as the design method. Afterwards this article introduces the Linux equipment driver in detail by the example the design and the concrete realization.The equipment actuates the movement in the nuclear point of view, is the Linux essence important constituent. This article while analyzes the Linux essence, discussed the embedded operating system definition, classified and the present situation, the embedded real time system characteristic takes the embedded Linux operating system essence cutting out, the correlation construction of data and the essence connection. Introduced the real-time embedded system each kind of dispatcher strategy (RM and the EDF strategy) and this article uses dispatch strategy.
