A Research On The Construction And System Maintenance Of Metropolitan Packet Transport Network

Considering the situation faced by transport networks that the main service is shifting from voice transport to data transport, this paper studies the construction and system maintenance of metropolitan packet transmission network. It briefly analyzes the important reasons for the development of transport network and IP bearer network and brings forward the solution, the next generation of transport network--packet transport network; studies and verifies the feasibility for the current transport network to smoothly evolve toward the packet transport network by analyzing the construction plan of the metropolitan packet transport network and the practice of the construction of the current network; reaches the conclusion that the metropolitan packet transport network meets the requirements and quality standards of telecommunication; proposes recommendations for the system maintenance of metropolitan packet transport network, taking into account the needs of maintenance, to provide reference and guidance to the system maintenance of metropolitan packet transport network. The research results of this paper are applicable to the construction and system maintenance of China Mobile's metropolitan packet transport network, to propose a construction plan for the existing metropolitan transport network to smoothly evolve toward the packet transport network, to provide testing methods and procedures for various services in the engineering construction and the maintenance plan and management requirements for the normal operation of the network devices, and to give guide to the later maintenance and management of metropolitan packet transport network.
