Color night vision technique is one of the hot techniques in the field of military research which is the focus of the present development in the world, it can improve night vision system image quality and recognition rate of the target.This paper makes researches on the principle and characteristics of infrared images and low-light images. The paper makes experiments on the previous researches on classic algorithm, such as NRL, MIT, TNO and Toet. In order to obtain rich the color information of night vision image, and aiming at the problem which the difference between the background and the target in infrared images is weakened, it realize the color night vision of low-light images and infrared images based on the visual characteristics of the human eye and the color transfer in YUV color space, which more approaches nature color and possibly reflects rich scene information paper. The color night vision system can realize the color fusion based on the comprehensive features obtained from the infrared light waveband and low-light waveband, which can enhance the target of infrared images and the difference between the target and background. After the researches on the former algorithms, the night vision system can complete the fusion of the original image data, Obtained the very good color display effect.On the basis of the above research, By using of the thermal infrared imager and low-light level night vision device to establish a dual-channel night vision system, The experiments of color night vision were carried out, and a good color display effect is obtained.
