Color transfer is an emerging image color processing method in these years, which is being widely used in the application of natural color night vision technology. After the color transferring,the color appearance of result image will get close to be natural,which is conducive to the target identification.Through the research of color transfer theory,this paper proposed several color night vision algorithms based on this theory.First of all,this paper introduces the basic color transfer technology and color night vision technology.As one of the most widely used methods of color night vision, the false color processing method is simple and fast,but the texture of the result image usually can not be shown precisely,therefore,there won't be good performance in the natural color transferring.In order to solve this problem,this paper proposed a color night vision method based on fusion and color space mapping.By fusing the visible image and infrared image based by wavelet transformation,this method will carry out grey fusion image with clear texture and target information.Combining these results with false color night vision technology,as a result,we will get the false color image with better texture information.We present a color night vision method based on clustering of false color fusion image._Firstly,before color transfer,we fuse the visible image and infrared image based on wavelet transformation,this image keeps texture information and target information well;secondly,based on the characteristics of night vision image,we propose a C- means clustering algorithm based on the false color fused image.In this algorithm,the color information of the false color fused image is used for the night vision image clustering as feature data vectors,and the segmentation result is good. Then we transfer color to the night vision image based on the clustering results and obtain natural colour night vision image.This paper realizes the automation of transferring color to the night vision images.The color appearance of result image is natural and the texture is clear.This is meaningful to the target identification for human being.Finally,this paper proposed a natural color night vision approach based on texture synthesis.By transferring both texture and color information of the color image to the night vision image at the same time,we can acquire the better color night vision images which are beneficial from the source natural color with good performance in its texture and color.And at last experimental result verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm.
