The Microchannel Plates (MCP) and phosphor screen assembly is an important components in image intensifier.MCP is the most important part of the Low-light image intensifier for its advantage as high electron multiplying.Phosphor screen is the output terminal of image intensifier.It can make the electrical signal into the optical signal which the human eye able to identify.However, there is no effective test equipment can be used to test the noise characteristics of the MCP and the screen assembly.Research on the the MCP screen assembly noise characteristics of testing techniques is launched.Multiplier principle of MCP, luminescence mechanism of Phosphor screen and noise factor theory formula of image intensifier were studied. Then the various components of noise characteristic of the image intensifier was studied.The mathematical expression of the output signal-to-noise ratio of MCP and the phosphor screen assembly and test method are given.Draw on existing testing techniques and scientific equipment.based on test method of the noise characteristics of the MCP and the phosphor screen assembly and according to its experimental requirements, a test system of noise characteristics of the MCP and the screen assembly which based on the analog image intensifier working environment is developed.Consider the impact of temperature change on their,when optical structure is designed. Optical window is working in special work environment,its gravitational field and thermal stress field coupling are analyzed by using the ABAQUS finite element software, calculation result of the design theory is verified.Design a special mechanical structure makes the turntable with the upper and lower covers form a shading system,thus make the background illumination of the test system is less than10-51x.By static gravity field and thermal stress field coupling and modal finite element analysis method, mechanical systems is analyzed.The performance of the test system is verified by a series of experiments.Firstly, the performance of vacuum system is tested by everyday use experiment and vacuum limit experiment.The output of the signal-to-noise ratio of MCP with different IBF and phosphor screen assembly is tested,different filament current affect on output of the signal-to-noise ratio of MCP and phosphor screen assembly is tested.Show the test results and analysis.
