A micro channel plate (MCP), which is a fused array of hollow glass tubes coated with a secondary emitter. The MCP accepts electrons and produces additional electrons through a secondary-emission process, thus amplifying the incoming signal. As a kind of electronic enhancing device MCP has many advantages, which has been widely used in many detection fields. At present the main application of MCP is in LLL image intensifier.Noise characteristic is one of the most important indicators of MCP. The noise factor can be used to evaluate the noise features of MCP exactly. At present, the study of testing the noise factor of MCP is mainly in the theoretical field, interiorly, the experiment testing technology is still blank.This paper focuses on the detecting technology of the noise factor of MCP. After grasping the working principle and noise characteristics of MCP, we designed the noise factor detecting project according to the noise factor formula. Under the guidance of the existing theory, drawing on the existing testing techniques and equipments, and the specific requirements of the detecting experiment, we designed the detecting system of MCP's noise factor. The system includes a vacuum system, mechanical structure, signal processing module, data acquisition and control system, computer system and so on.We have made a reliable operating software for this system, which can control the system working intelligently. A lot of experiments have been done on the system to test MCP's noise factor and other properties. After a number of experiments, the system works normally and the test results are reasonably and stable. The whole thesis is summarized at last, including further study and unsolved problems.
