For operators, only for broadband access network transformation, as well as customer segment of business transformation, to drive the broadband gain promotion,"TriplePlay" and many other business will become the new broadband operators to obtain income key.Broadband access network reform and business transformation, requires access device is based on unified network carrying multiple business capacity, and to meet the growing demand for bandwidth. DSL technology due to bandwidth and access distance limitations, has been unable to meet the demand. The PON (passive optical network) technology with high bandwidth, wide coverage, single-fiber access, abundant interface and integrated service access capacity and other advantages. PON system, can not only greatly enhance the business user access speed and integrated business ability, and can provide sufficient service quality assurance. For home users, in addition to the speed of lifting, a fiber can provide voice, video and data services. At the same time as the fiber itself is of high stability, effectively reduce operation and maintenance costs, so as to help the operator to implement access network construction "put things right once and for all".At present, the main two PON standards, one is developed by IEEE802.3ah group EthernetPON (EPON) standard, another is developed by ITU/FSAN GigabitPON (GPON) standards, their common characteristics are as follows:High access bandwidth.
