Design And Implementation Of Troubleshooting System In Campus Network

As a special model of local network area, The campus network technology ofuniversities has developed very quickly with the rapid development of moderninformation technology. Network working size and network structure and the level ofsophistication have all changed a lot while the quantity of users have multiplied. Owingto the complicated composition of the users of campus network, the various applicationand the need of services of high quality, the maintenance and management of campusnetrk are facing the unprecedented challenge.This thesis stats the Simple Network Management Protocal， compares thedifferences and similarities among several groups of users of campus network，designsthe trouble shooting system of campus network with the model of campus network ofSichuan Normal University. The trouble shooting system uses lots of rules,who mainrole are monitoring and analyzing the operating status of the equipments and thenetwork.The current status of network can be visually shown with this system。The followings are the researching results and creativity:1. With the analysis of characteristics of campus network and difficulties of faultdiagnosis, it researches on the management technology of network warning and collectsthe information by inquiry and warning polling and SNMP agent technology.2. It puts forwards a practical approach to test the network of client by using thetool to test whether it is the network fault or not. If it is the network fault, the test willcontinue until find out the problems; if it is the system fault, the test will end. Thissystem can be used in lots of system platform such as windows2000or windows xp orwindows7or linux and so on.3. Collected in the long-term accumulation of work on the case-based reasoningtechnology case study method, the case of coding rules, case classification and sortingmethods, case library workflow, in this particular network structure of the CampusNetworkcommon fault case, establish the the fault case base for campus Network4. The system use client and server structure, it can be setup with pppoe or802.1xdial client, The file size of this system is little and easy to use, when the system has some event,it can be logged and alert by so many ways such as voice or character.
