With the rapid development of internet industry, no matter the individuals, groupsor the governments, enterprises, the demand for data storage is higher than ever. Inrecent years, under the circumstance that cloud computing technologies are soaring, the solutions that are based on cloud storage are come to the fore, and the users ofcloud backup system are more and more. In order to provide different user experiencefor different type of users, it is necessary to manage the user storage space. In thisthesis, the user storage space management involves the assign of space to users, generating of storage directory, calculating of user space, the strategy of storage anddata migration among servers as well.Through researching of cloud computing theories and creating the model ofstorage directory to implement the functions of user storage space management: spaceassignment, space calculation, and decision of allowance of backup. In addition, set analert value of the space usage to remind user timely. This system uses a modular way to design and implement, thus ensuring thescalability and reusability. The system uses a modular approach to the design andcompletion, thus ensuring scalability and reusability of modules. The system as awhole is a C/S architecture, the host needs to be backed up to the production server, the host called disaster recovery of the backup data is stored. Run on the productionserver the Web server lightTPD, the script parser PHP and the database server mysql, the PHP FTP client. Installed on the disaster recovery machine centos5.4, install Webserver lightTPD, the script parser PHP and the database server mysql vsftpd FTP serverside Finally, make a functional testing and a performance testing of the system toensure the availability and reliability of the system.
