With scientific and technological development, for video data storage the demand of system capacity, power consumption and reliability increasingly becomes higher and higher. How to develop high-quality image storage system, real time and quickly store large amounts of video data and effective management of video files is the key to this thesis.This paper first analyzes the structure of electronic storage array system. And according to technical requirements for the hardware design, the requirements of storage capacity is4TGByte which is divided into10storage plates and form a bus-structured storage arrays; for compressed MPEG4format video stream, Nand Flashes with the capacity of4Gbyte are used as the storage medium,100chips constitute400GByte storage board; FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) servers as a controller for storage arrays; DSP(Digital Signal Processor) is used as the core of data processing and interface unit. To finish the operation of the storage arrays, papers created a dedicated file management system refer to FAT16(FAT:File Allocation Table) and NTFS (New Technology File System).Paper focuses on the control of the memory chip technology, and has completed the operation of Nand Flash read, write, erase and invalid block management.The research achievements of the research papers have been applied in certain equipment, and systems testing results show the rationality of the design.
