Large capacity electronic storage array using nand flash chip as storage medium with its convenience in expansion and adaptability to environment has been a main way of video information storage. For electronic storage array does not have a uniform interface standard, the control and management technology becomes an important research content in accessing electronic storage arrays.This article mainly discusses the software and hardware design of the large capacity storage control and management subsystem, which is the intermediate links between video surveillance terminal and large capacity storage array. The system functions and global hardware and software desires are introduced at the beginning of the paper. The control and management subsystem, which uses ADSP-BF537as the core, extends double100M ethernet interfaces to communicate with upper computer and video surveillance terminals and uses high-speed PPI interface to provide data transmission channel for electronic storage array. Then the paper discusses the software design of network communication based on TCP/IP protocol, involving UDP communication with upper computer and TCP with video surveillance terminals. Software optimization for different communication demands is also presented. PPI communication of control and management subsystem and electronic storage array is studied deeply in the paper, with emphasis on direction control, reliable transmission protocol, setting registers and so on, under the condition of bidirectional transmission.Finally, the paper introduces how to use the basic network functions of LWIP to construct an embedded FTP server for video file download. Network users can access electronic storage array by FTP.
