With the development of wireless communication technologies, in order to satisfy new requirements for mobile communication, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) will be used as new key technologies in the next generation communications (B3G or4G). OFDM technology can change the frequency selective fading channel into the flat channel in the frequency domain, which can reduce the impact of multi-path fading. While MIMO technology can improve the system transmission rate by generating independent parallel channels in space and transmitting multiple data beats. The spatial multiplexing technology of MIMO can raise the spectrum efficiency without increasing the system bandwidth. OFDM technology and MIMO technology differs from other technology, their unique advantages conforms communications requirements. Combinng MIMO technology with OFDM technology can improve the efficiency of the system. The objective of the wireless resource management is to provide operational quality assurance for the wireless user terminals in the network, under conditions of limited bandwidth. This paper studies the resource scheduling algorithms of the MIMO-OFDM system, the existing scheduling algorithms based on the corresponding improvements to increas the system performance.This paper is divided into two aspects:the first part is to inroduce the wireless mobile communication environment, the theoretical knowledge of OFDM and MIMO:firstly, analyzing the development process and technologies of mobile communications, and then introducing the key technology of OFDM and MIMO system, the wireless resource description of OFDMA system. The second part is on the resource scheduling algorithm: firstly, introducing the adaptive technology and its applicated in OFDM systems, explaining the classical Water-Filling theory, analyzing and comparing the principle and performance of the classical resource scheduling algorithms which uesed in OFDM system, LINEAR algorithm is applied to achieve sub-carrier and power allocation, to complete the research on resource scheduling of OFDMA systems, which proves the relationship between the system capacity and the fairness. For the system capacity performance, improving the mentioned LINEAR algorithm to improve the system capacity under the condition that there is no change on system complexity, as well as the improved algorithm improve fairness. Secondly, applying the Chow algorithm which used in OFDM system to MIMO-OFDM system, to complete the research on resource scheduling of MIMO-OFDM systems, and confirm the advantage of diversity gain in multi-antenna system. After that, making groups in adaptive Chow algorithm to reduce the computational complexity and save calculation time under the condition of no loss of bit error rate, bit and energy distribution, which have great significance for the adaptive modulation.
