| With the social and economic development brought by the reform and opening up, Chinese education values and systems have gone through great changes to train students who can meet the fast-changing world.The demand for education news is increasing day after night, as education becomes more and more important to everyone in the modern competitive world. Meanwhile, the education news has changed a lot with the development of the education system.Education news is no longer limited to the campus activities and events. More and more readers are become interested in-depth analysis news on the education reform and system.The education news is no longer a dispensable part of modern newspaper. Instead, a lot of newspapers have established special education pages for readers and the education news dominate the headlines from time to time, especially during the College Entrance Exam period.This paper chooses the Oriental Morning Post as the research object to study the Chinese education news development.Oriental Morning Post is the "post-city newspaper", compared with "Party newspapers." It not only conveys main stream values, it also appeals to the mass by light-hearted language styles and Page design, compared with non-Party local newspapers.The thesis analyzes the newspapers’ education news changes with rich report examples including universities’ independent admission, graduates employment situation and the dairy of Yu Juan, a university teacher who kept recording her experience to fight against cancer.Moreover, the thesis explores the methods to report and attract readers on the new media platform including microblogs. |
