In recent years, with the rapid development of internet of things (IOT), radio frequency identification (RFID) as one of the key technologies also achieved a new rapid development, RFID has a comprehensive application in many fields, such as industrial automation, transportation, identification and logistics etc. Meanwhile, the diversity of RFID standards and the particularity of the application also bring new demands and challenges to the test and the performance evaluation of RFID systems. This paper first compares the existing RFID test systems, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the existing typical RFID test systems. And then introduces the UHF RFID automated test system, the test system can test performance and protocol conformance of UHF readers and tags. The design of the reader digital baseband uses in the tag test platform. The extended design specifications according to the requirements of the tag test platform. The original transmitter digital baseband only supported DSB-ASK modulation and Tari/RTcal/TRcal is fixed values. The original receiver digital baseband with a fixed data rate, the correlators used serial operation, and only supported FMO decoder (the FMO decoding done in the DSP). Joined the extended design support to the SSB-ASK, PR-ASK modulation; transmitting and receiving data rate conversion, the parameter values can be adjusted; the correlators are designed to parallel operations to improve efficiency; decoding module support FMO and Miller sub-carrier(2,4,8) and the module turns to the digital baseband. Finally, the digital system verified on FPGA platform and further verified on the tag test platform. The verification results show that the design of digital baseband did not work well when the link frequencies up to320KHz and above and the Miller-8decoding success rate is very low. Taking into account the limited mainly by the receiver architecture, this will improve in the future work.
