After continuous development in recent years, video surveillance has been widely used in security, transportation, electricity, education, health care and other fields, and has become an important means for the protection of people’s lives and property safety. In recent years, with computer technology, wireless communication technology and image codec technology and other related technologies mature and development, the application of video surveillance systems is no longer limited to the traditional wired network environment. Video surveillance system combined with wireless transmission technology has been widespread concern in the current domestic and international research institutions. Therefore, the research and development of wireless video surveillance system based on wireless network environment is very important.This thesis developed terminal data business software of video surveillance system based on wireless network communications. Combined with hardware and software framework design based on the TMS320DM6467processor, terminal data business software researched and developed audio and video data interaction mechanism between the TMS320DM6467processor internal DSP core and ARM core, and message interaction mechanism between the DSP core and the ARM core, and audio and video streams sending, and audio and video streams storage and other functions. Taking into account the higher the error rate of the channel characteristics under wireless network environment, this thesis proposes an optimization algorithm by second Cauchy RS coding for multi-frame video data packets based on traditional Cauchy RS encoding and diagonal interleaving to improve the packet loss recovery rate of real-time video surveillance system. The entire system has been functional testing and performance testing, system data business software meets the design requirements, and with the generic configuration of video surveillance system, compared with the traditional Cauchy RS coding algorithm, the experimental result indicates that the optimization algorithm can significantly improve the packet loss recovery rate of10%-20%in average total delay introduced25ms.
