Routing protocol is a key technologies and a hot issues in wireless sensornetwork. In wireless sensor networks, the network life cycle is an importantperformance indicators. The energy consumption levels and energy balancebetween the nodes is two main factors that affect network lifecycle. Sensornodes running on battery power, energy is limited, So designing the routingprotocols should consider fully node energy consumption and the balance ofenergy consumption between nodes, in order to prolong the network lifetime. The paper proposed a kind of energy balanced clustering routing protocolon the basis of the LEACH protocol clustering thought (EBCR) from the viewof reducing energy consumption and energy balance and uneven energyconsumption lead to the network lifecycle premature end. In the establishedcluster head stage, the protocol considers the residual energy of nodeļ¼Œthelocation of the cluster head and the distance between the cluster head, so thatthe node with more remaining energy and nearer the sink node(sink) has ahigher probability to become a cluster head. There is a certain distance betweencluster heads to avoid signal interference when communicating between densecluster heads. In the transmission data phase, The protocol uses a combination oftransmission mode based on the distance of the single-hop and multi-hop.Setting a distance threshold, cluster head directly transfer data to sink node inthe range of distance threshold, otherwise using multi-hop manner for datatransmission. Next hop routing is selected according to the square of the energydifference from adjacent cluster head in multi-hop. The node of smallest energydifference would be the next hop. Finally, there is a simulation experiment to EBCR protocol in the platformof NS-2simulation. Simulation results showed that the protocol balanced energyconsumption of network node, the life cycle of the network has been extended36%.
